Upgrades help you progress faster in the game by enhancing various aspects of your gameplay. They can be purchased using gems.

Gems are earned by mining, but obtaining them isn’t guaranteed — chests are randomly found while mining. Occasionally, a Golden Chest may appear, containing more Gems than a regular chest.

Players can increase the amount of Gems obtained by upgrading Gem Boosts, which raises both the quantity of Gems per chest and the chance to receive Gems overall. This helps you earn more and progress faster.
